Arthur D. Bishop | Director
Mr. Bishop has 35 years of direct service and administrative experience in the field of social service, working in the areas of community mental health, substance abuse and child welfare.
Mr. Bishop began his career as an employee with the State of Illinois with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (IDCFS) as a case worker in 1995. He received several promotions during his career with IDCFS; to a supervisor in 1997, a Field Service Manager in 2000 and Assistant Chief of Staff in 2001. In 2003 Mr. Bishop was appointed as the Deputy Director of Field Operations for IDCFS.
On January 1, 2011, Mr. Bishop was appointed by Illinois Governor Pat Quinn, as Director of the Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice.
Mr. Bishop holds a Master’s degree in Human Services Administration from Spertus College in Chicago, and an undergrad degree in Sociology from Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, Illinois.
